Is it true? Heard a rumor WT postphones Disfellowshipping until further notice!!??
by Olivia Wilde ini am not sure if it's true but i heard from a good source that wt has given instructions to elders to postponed disfellowshipping members from wrong doing/gross sin until further instructions given by headquarters.
i heard some jws were just reproved either privately or publically.
has anyone else heard anything like this recently?

I think it is highly unlikely, but very possible. The WTB&T has all kinds of problems that DFing makes worse. There are lawsuits against them, they want donations. They cant get at your money if they kicked you out. The membership is dwindling no matter what they say or try and publish. They want to keep you in. Anyone would feel more comfortable and stay in if the threat of being kicked out goes away. It can't be used against them in litigation if the practice goes away. They can't announce that they are suspending it. That's too damaging in many ways, and can be used against them by Lawyers and members who have a bone to pick. If they quietly suspend it and defer it to "further notice", they never give the "further notice" and it is gone with no fallout. They can say in court that they didn't discontinue the practice, yada, yada and they get off the hot seat with the fallout from doing it. It all goes away quietly and nothing needed to be announced or printed that can be used against them. -

Here is Part 2.
So you will have some understanding of the BOE I will reference in future posts, the following is who they are:
“The Coordinator”. This is a newly made Elder (1-2 years) who originally comes from Asia. He is a nice person who speaks English unintelligibly. He wasn’t shrewd enough to avoid the job. The more experienced men dumped it on him for sure. He is affectionately known as “Mumbles” in memory of the character in Dick Tracy comics. When he asks questions from the platform 100 Americans just look at him and try and figure out what he just said. And they will tell you that you aren’t qualified.
“Goebbels”. This is a Bethelite who attends. He drank the cool-aid years ago and is a true propaganda artist. He believes everything that is published. You better too or else! He rarely talks to the publishers unless he wants something. He only hears you if you can do work for him, feed him or give him money. He confines his conversation to the BOE and his wife. A very inflexible intolerant person. I haven’t met a single person who likes him. Very approachable I’d say.
“The Secretary”. This is a very nice man who will cry at the drop of a hat. He can start crying on the platform, during a prayer, or some other thing that triggers it. I was told that he used to be worse, but now is doing much better. Yay! If he has a glass of wine or two, he will start telling you why he hates his father. There is a lot laying there under the surface, but still a nice person. Just lock-up the Jack Daniels.
“The Court Fool”. This man oversees the TMS believe it or not. He says the craziest things that don’t make sense. He slurs his words, can’t read in public without stuttering and stammering, mispronounces words constantly, can’t complete a thought in most cases. I don’t think he has had an original thought since maybe 1968? Screws up the TMS schedule and counsel point that you are working on. He feels free to give speaking counsel however. He is always looking for food or a freebee of some sort. He thinks he is a genius and so does his wife.
“The Nonentity”. This is a very humble, nice man who has uncooperative children, a nice wife and doesn’t give a hoot about anything. Don’t expect any help from him at any level. He can’t give it.
“The Carpetbagger”. This is a man who took it upon himself to move to our Congo and refers to this manipulation of Congos as his “Assignment”. He answers every other question at the meetings. He sits in the front row or so with his wife and kids. He is very concerned what people think of him. He drives leased luxury cars, gets to the meeting early and parks right up front so everyone sees them. Spends time in FS telling people who have been publishers for 50-60 years how to properly fill out a house-to-house record because he has “been sent here to help”. He comes from a quasi-rat hole neighborhood in a nearby urban area. I suspect he is running from something. Time will tell.
Sound inviting?

Too Much Discontent in Congregation Part 1
by Simon Templar ini am seeing and hearing many, many long-time jws openly expressing problems with either the watchtower society itself, the publications, changing doctrine, incorrectly living their lives as a result of bad doctrine, the behavior of the boe and other related things.
i will share some of these things in several posts, because there are just too many of them.
the complaints that i hear from publishers and pioneers are many.

Answers to questions from Forum Members:
All that has been told to me is at "The Local Level". I know Elders elsewhere that have issues with things, but none in my KH have said a word to me.
Yes, the older Lady said the "F" bomb.
More to come soon.

I am seeing and hearing many, many long-time JWs openly expressing problems with either the Watchtower Society itself, the publications, changing doctrine, incorrectly living their lives as a result of bad doctrine, the behavior of the BOE and other related things. I will share some of these things in several posts, because there are just too many of them. The complaints that I hear from publishers and pioneers are many. Its best for me to relate them in pieces.
Here's one:
Yesterday afternoon after the meeting, a sister who is in the truth for about 65-70 years was chatting with me. Based on previous conversations that I have had with her, I said. "The Watchtower study that we just had was unusual. They were discussing that we should be lead by our trained conscience. Since when? They have been telling us what to do for years, and that they would tell us anything that we need to know, so don't worry about it." She replied, "I know. That study was so F*n boring. I could hardly stay awake. If we didn't do what they tild us to do, they'd throw us out." This woman is at least 75 years old. I couldn't believe her speech to me. Right in front if the KH. She could care less she is so angry with things.
Here is another one:
I am out in FS recently with a pioneer sister. We are going door-to-door. We have a very good personal relationship. We were just talking about things that came to mind. She mentioned by specific name several of the Elders, how she thinks that they are really unqualified and that through time, people dying, moving away, etc, we (everyone in the region) are left with bodies of Elders who really are unqualified, but appointed for inexplicable reasons. The result is that the meeting parts are not really good, the Sunday talks are blah or terrible, the Ministry School counsel is ridiculous in some cases, etc. Her main problem is that in the congregation and with the BOE specifically, no one cares about the "sheep" anymore. She doesn't feel appreciated for her efforts, or cared for personally anymore. She doesn't like the way things are, and she has started complaining about it.
Where I live, it feels as if many active publishers and others are feeling discontent, to say the least, and can't hold it in any longer. The "Generation" is a biggy. I hear all kinds of complaint about that all the time.
More on this subject in other posts in the future.

How to handle invites to dinner after Sunday meeting?
by FadeToBlack ini have not been to a meeting for over a year.
yesterday, when my wife returned from the 1 day assembly, i got an invite for dinner next sunday.
i said i would think about it, to be honest, as nice as the people are, it would just be boring listening to their comments about everything jw.

What's the point? It sounds as if you are fading. I would look at the calendar in my mobile and say, "It looks as if I have something already committed at that time. I have to pass. Thanks for asking". Leave it at that. -

If JWs Were More Tolerant Would It Help Their Money Woes?
by minimus inthey don't want you bettering yourself.
they hate college education.they applaud you if you quit full time secular work and instead, "pioneer".
they cry that they have money problems.
-
Simon Templar
They want everything. They don't want you educated so that you can be controlled. They want you poor and "needy". They want you to drink the cool-aid, quit your job, pioneer and be immersed in the program so you can be controlled. When they want/need money, they send out the call and know that there are enough members world-wide involved that they will get the donations that are required. This is a function of control. -

Is there a Ministerial Servant Qualification Change?
by Simon Templar init used to be that if an adult child (either a non-believer or disfellowshiped/disassociated) lived "under your roof" and lived by the "bible standards of the home", the father could be appointed either a ms or elder as the case may be.
of course, if the adult child was a believer and a member of the congregation, they had to be exemplary.
i overheard at the meeting yesterday, taking place in a side conversation held in the corner, that if this living condition exists, the father cannot be appointed because of the presence of the non-participating adult child in the home.

Steve2 it was a conversation between two Elders talking on the side. I was doing light cleaning. It was not from the platform. -

Just curious
by Gorbatchov ini remember that every time when my father and i came home from the meeting, my mother (who stayed at home for my disabled brother) asked us "who was attending and who wasn't attending".. and then, we took some time to drink coffee and went through the list who was there and who wasn't.
there after there was an opinion made why someone was absent and what this meant in relation with his strength of believe.. just curious, do you recognize this?
gorby.

It was, and still is done all the time. It is part of the learned self-righteousness. When I was a kid, I remember hearing from the platform that we should note who wasn't there and check on them to see if they are alright.
